http://www.suntimes.com/news/sweet/1266275,CST-NWS-sweet07.article
-- STEVE HUNTLEY: Conservatives are correct that President Bush and the Republicans who ran Congress for six years never hesitated to throw the governing principles of the right overboard in trying to cement their hold on power. Bush and the GOP Congress spent like Democrats and birthed a huge new entitlement in the Medicare drug program. Faced with the mortgage meltdown, the Bush administration intervened in the economy to the point of nationalizing big banks.

-- DIERSEN HEADLINE: Countries, organizations, and people that argue that GOD is a socialist if not a communist wanted Obama to be elected. What does that say about Obama. What does Falsani say about this? It seems that many Obama supporters believe that you get into HEAVEN by a) using government to take more and more money away from those who earn more money and b) using government to give more and more of that money to those who earn less money. Needless-to-say, that is anti-religious, that it is socialism, that is communism.

NBC5
-- DuPage Elects 23-Year-Old to County Board - Peggy Cassidy and Dick Johnson
http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/DuPage_Elects_23-Year-Old_to_County_Board.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: On Thursday morning, a Chicago reporter approached the young board member's home in hopes of scoring an interview. The house was dark and it appeared that no one was home. Then the door opened and a sleepy-headed Michelassi appeared, apologizing for the delay and explaining that he was "sleeping in." Standing in the doorway in bare feet, jeans and a T-shirt, Michelassi said he considers himself a "candidate of the people." As a political science major in college, it occured to him that he might try running for office some day, but he never thought he'd be elected the first time out. "Politically, I’m a rookie," he says of himself on his Web site. The young board member said he plans on taking only a $36,000 salary, perhaps letting his constituents choose to which charities he'll give the $20,000 balance of his county salary. Michelassi is scheduled to work the photo counter at Jewel Thursday afternoon, but said he's going to try to get the day off to attend his first budget meeting. The Daily Herald reported Thursday that, in fact, Michelassi intends to quit his Jewel job to focus on his new gig.)
