Blagojevich should have moved to Springfield

How weird if the Gov (and his wife) end up imprisoned over home improvements when they could have lived on the Taxpayer's dime in a mansion in Springfield. From today's Sun Times.

Federal investigators are zeroing in on whether Tony Rezko paid for all or part of a $90,000 rehab of Gov. Blagojevich's Northwest Side bungalow as the corruption probe of the state's first family accelerates.

Doc Madigan, Good Government Jackson: post Rezko Illinois Dems

Doc Madigan the legislative-Oncologist on Blagojevich,

"One thing we learned from the (imprisoned former Republican Gov.) George Ryan case is that we should excise a tumor when it is first discovered; not leave it in the body to continue to spread and do further harm," the memo reads.
And Jackson turns on Halvorson: The Cheap Shot At Halvorson.

So this is the post-Rezko Illinois Democratic party? Do these guys see more icebergs out there? It's supposed to be the Democrat's year and this seems odd behavior (or maybe turning on your shipmates is standard behavior with no GOP -or Greens- in sight).

And then we have Fitz setting sights on Jon Burg.

What great times for Illinois bloggers.

I think it’s wrong for the Democratic Speaker and Democratic Party Chairman to promote the impeachment of a Democratic Governor. Impeachment is unwarranted in my opinion, and should not be used as a political tool. It is a serious state action that should not be used to divert attention from the issues at hand which are the operating budget and passing a capital bill.
Where's the Lightworker when you need 'm.

These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

Sounds like the guy Springfield needs.

Illinois Prisons: Return of the Middle Managers

They return via a fat study. From Pantagraph.com: Governor now wants more middle managers in prison system

The administration says the proposed changes are part of a restructuring that was recommended by the Harvey M. Rose Accountancy Corp. of San Francisco, which the administration hired for $443,000 in 2005 to investigate whether state prisons were adequately staffed.

The results of the consultant's initial study, however, were rejected and sent back for revisions. The final version – weighing in at more than 1,000-pages – called for the restructuring, budget documents show.

So now, four years after Blagojevich said the prison system needed fewer shift commanders, Corrections spokesman Derek Schnapp said the agency needs more.

''They need shift commanders,'' Schnapp said Monday.
