Kane County Ethics advisor; but what about Cook?

I've never heard of a County Ethics advisor before, but Kane is interviewing for one.

The position is part-time.

The adviser is charged with conducting ethics training programs and initial investigations of alleged ethical violations upon receiving complaints regarding activities prohibited by the county’s ethics ordinance, passed last year.

Prohibited activities for county officials and employees include performing political activities while on the clock and forcing an employee to participate in political activities in exchange for time off or other compensation.
Any nominations for an Ethics Advisor for Cook, Dupage, or St Clair? Counties filled with the ethically confused I'm sure.

Pat McDonough should be the ethics advisor in Cook County.

Cook County already has an Inspector General and an Ethics Board with an Executive Director.

They are worthless because they have no independance from Stroger or his eventual successor. The Sun-Times revealed early this year that both contributed to Stroger's campaign fun.

Bill, do you ever even bother to Google the subjects on which you post? Basic information--like the existence of Cook County ethics officials (weak and underfunded as they may be)--is just a click away.

Sometimes, sometimes not...

I read the morning papers, post what I think looks interesting, and move on....

This is a water cooler; not a Grad School program.

And the great virtue of the blogsphere is it's cumulative and self-correcting.

A giant collective mind.

You don't find that in MSM.

It's ethical. Ask the Cook County ethicist.... as a son of Cook County, I find those three words linked together great fun.
