Why stick Illinois's African Americans with Blagojevich's failure?

Gov. Blagojevich tells us,

"And I would caution even you guys in the media to not keep fanning the flames of some of this and some who are trying to make political capital out of dividing people,"
The issue is we have a Minister and his representative on a commission who doesn't like Queers or Jews or Hollywood.

That's it. Leave Illinois African Americans out of it.

It's racist to suggest African Americans agree with any of this.

You have no basis for suggesting that. There is no division of communities.

Lonnie Nasatir, Midwest regional director of the Anti-Defamation League and a former commission member who stepped down in protest, said that despite Blagojevich's plan, "the ADL has never regarded this issue as one pitting African-Americans against Jews or gays. It is rather an issue of being able to recognize bigotry and stand up to hate."
It's an issue of hate and you shame Illinois by not speaking out and worse slam whole groups of Illinois's citzens by suggesting they agree with any of it.

Go away Governor, go away... make room for Pat Quinn.

Blago sucks. I hope Edwin is the choice. I'll help him put up yard signs.

Bored,

re rules.

From Mark Gordon's Blogger's Brief,

Who needs rules?

We are not making this up. That was actually the question posed by Illinois’ director of public health this week. Appearing before the Senate Executive Appointments Committee March 9, Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Eric Whitaker was asked to explain why the Governor’s Executive Order establishing a taxpayer-paid embryonic stem cell experimentation program was amended to eliminate any requirement that the agency adopt formal rules for handing out tax dollars.

Whitaker relayed a conversation between himself and his agency’s “Rules Coordinator”:

“…when she saw it, she said, ’Why are we doing rules to give out this money? We give out millions of dollars. Given our general statutory authority, why do we need rules?’ And, as we had our lawyers look into it, the question was: why do we need rules?”

Rod and me... both above the rules.
