“Cook County adopts voting ban but delays implementation until 2007”
Obviously, this is just a typo. The story is really about the smoking ban. But I found it amusing and worth pointing out.
Update: I struggled for several minutes while writing this post, trying to pick from the many humorous remarks that come to mind as a title. I changed it a few hours after originally posting it, and I still am not sure if this is the best. So, I’ll put it to all of you…..let’s hear your best shot at writing a second half to that headline.

There is a voting ban, it is the hereditary handing down of the dynastic oligarchy(ies) of Chicago and Illinois (mostly Irish and mostly from the South Side with some notable exceptions):
Lisa Madigan
Danny Hynes
Tom Dart
(all Irish, all big daddies and all South Side)
don't forget Daley Daley Daley and Daley (Richard J, Jr, Billy and John)
There are some North Side dynasties and even some non Irish but not nearly as powerful
Cullertons have been around for over a 100 years stealing at the taxpayers dime
don't forget the ghost payrolling Laurinos
and the Black Stroger and Stroger
Cook County voting is a joke.
