Check Blagojevich out

Bernard Schoenburg's column in yesterday's State Journal-Register: When the governor speaks ... better check it out.

Pretty damning column. Schoenburg ends with,

There's a saying that was part of the lore of the old City News Bureau in Chicago: "If your mother says she loves you, check it out."

Covering the current governor might well justify a new saying: "Before you believe what Gov. Rod Blagojevich says, remember, it could be make-believe."

Oh, and his budget address is next week. Can't wait to hear the numbers.

Bernie, in his never ending quest to vanquish the governor, clearly is making a mountain out of a mole hill here.

Reality check. THIS IS A JOKE. AN ICEBREAKER. AN ATTENTION GETTER AT THE BEGINNING OF A SPEECH. Standard procedure folks.

What? Are we going to start fact checking if the chicken REALLY did get to the other side of the road and why?

Give me a break.

8:32,

Nice try. The story about the girl may have been a joke, but the other statements, and countless others not in the article, have been flat out lies and statements that he pulls out of mid-air with no facts to back them up.

I'm sure the folks in Vandalia and Decatur are still laughing. And so are the leaders and legislators who made the Rod the first Governor to have to put his promises in writing. No wait, they are actually laughing about that. As sad as it is.

Just like that joke that he was going to clean up state government. Ha, ha.
