Cegelis's Kevin Spidel says corruption is rampant.

A press release from Cegelis for Congress announcing Kevin Spidel will be her new Campaign Manager. Kevin tells me,

At a time when corruption is rampant in Washington D.C. politics, there are few candidates with no ties to special interest and a strong commitment to the American voter. Christine is one of those candidates.
I wonder if Kevin is from Illinois?

"I wonder if Kevin is from Illinois?"

What kind of statement is that suppose to be? What the hell does that matter? He's her campaign manager, not the candidate.

At least his candidate his deep ties to the district and actually shows up at district candidate forums.

Touchy touchy...Baar is almost certainly no Duckworth supporter.

Only someone from outside Illinois can talk about rampant corruption in Washington DC with a straight face.

I'd say most people Illinois expect rampant corruption in Illinois and Washington.

Some of us even enjoy the stories about crooked pols.

Paul Powell's safe in the closet alongside the cases of canned cream-corn he lived on being a classic.

A lawyer I know defended a guy found stoned and walking naked down the center of Cicero Ave. The Cicero cops arrested him for possesion.

My friend sprung him by just telling the Judge the guy was in rehab now, admitted doing the LSD, and --after all-- he was naked. He didn't posses a thing.

Afterwords the guy thanked my lawyer friend for paying off the Judge. He just couldn't imagine a successful defense without corruption.

That's how a lot of us think in Illinois. Even those of us not stoned all the time. Corruption is just how things get done in Illinois. No corruption --then system falls apart.

That's often true although I wonder if it's as rampant as we think.

Anyways we have so much Illinois corruption, I just have to chuckle when I read Spindle's comments.

Welcome to the West Burbs.
