Guy says, 'You Blog?' Some Madigan Stuff

Guy says to me, 'You Blog?' I says, 'Yeah, I Blog.' He says, 'You Blog Good?' I says, "Let's see.' He says, 'Blog this.'

I asked him if Edgar Allen Poe had a mustache and he says 'he didn't always.' I said, 'True.' But can you prove that he did at one time.' The guys says, ' Yeah, I got a picture of him with a mustache.' So I says, 'Ok.'

The guy says Blog this:

Liz Brown, a Mike Madigan staffer viewed Edwin Eisendrath's petitions at 9:43 A.M. and copied them at 10:49 A.M. . He (Edwin) filed in the Governor's race on Monday - Brown used a P.O.Box.

I wonder if she ( Liz Brown) was on a coffee break from her State job.

Sight to be seen, Mike Madigan staffers on the 6th Floor of the County building, monitoring petition challenges to Edwin Eisendrath's nominating petitions.

Isn't this the same type of behavior that caused the Feds to investigate former Illinois House Speaker Lee Daniels?

I says, I don't know from Daniels, I Blog. Common Talley View.

Uh genius. Liz Brown is on the payroll of the Dem Party of Illinois... not the state payroll.

Bzzzz. Try again.

The speaker is much too sly to be tripped up on this one. I had a friend who once filed as a state rep candidate and Madigan immediately dispatched campaign staff to the county courthouse to look for traffic tickets, deed transfers, divorces, criminal cases, civil cases and any such dirt they could find. I think it is just standard stuff that both parties do to anyone who has the testicular what ever it is to actually give people a choice in Illinois. The Speaker does not have all the answers and when I got up this morning it was still America, land of the free. If people want to run in an election, let them run and let the people decide. What is the Speaker and the democratic party in fear of, that we might actually have a democrat governor who is not corrupt? RGod has had almost 4 years to clean up state government and he has failed miserably in my opinion. I want to have a choice in the democratic primary for governor and so do lots of other people. I'm getting a little weary of this whats in it for me attitude my fellow democrats have.

Anon 7:54: In hindsight, don't you wish that Republicans had done their homework and gotten all the files on JACK!?

Cal Skinner 10:15 AM

Even if the staffer in question was an employee of the Speaker's Office, the public does not have a right to look at the time cards.

Of course, letting Madigan's staff know of your observation before the end of the pay period would allow some "adjustment" to be made, wouldn't it?

Republicans knew JACKS! files were a mess...it's just too bad he lied to all of them, then hid behind his son.

when I got up this morning it was still America, land of the free.

7:54, when the President of the United States admits that he ordered illegal spying on citizens (when he's not otherwise busy secretly declaring citizens "enemy combatants" and attempting to hold them in military prisons with no recourse to the courts, that is), I'm not so sure America is still the "land of the free."

Here is a funny one.
Let's see if we can get Cal Sweaty Palms" Skinner to tell us which records should be public and which private.
Cal will say time cards - yes
" " " divorce files - no

grand old partisan 3:53 PM

insider, I don't believe the President admitted he did anything illegal.

Well Cal Skinner, I beg to differ. If the news was doing a ghost-payrolling story, would the time sheets be available under the Freedom of Information Act?

After all, state employees times sheets are public information.

Grand Old Partisan,

He did admit to doing something illegal, he just never acknowleged that what he did was illegal.

Contrary, he did confess. He stated the constitution gives him the powers to protect the people from terrorist in which he interpreted that he is God Almighty and since he appoints to the United States Supreme Court and have invaded another country, WHO THE HELL CAN TELL ME WHAT TO DO?

Simultaenous, when a Dictator engaged in this type of conduct, it only last for so long then Divine Justice comes to play.

Ask Suddam Hussein!

I did not vote for George W, however democrats running around who openly admit to voting for republican presidents (see Blago owning up to voting for Reagan ont once but twice-Chicago Tribune Archives)need to understand when we elect republican presidents they are going to appoint republicans to the Supreme Court. Those are lifetime appointments that intrepret the law for all of us for decades to come. A president and his policy makers will be gone in 8 years but appointments are lifetime. Democrats who now sit around and wring their hands about Bush have nobody to blame but themselves. Put up a candidate that can win. We are facing the same concept here in Illinos. Do we stick with a governor who has surrounded himself with corrupt people and hired every unqualified hack in the state? We all know that some very high up people in Blago's administration are going to be indicted and possibly his campaign committee. Once that happens the whole ticket is tainted. Do we fall on the sword for this guy? Not me! Better wake up while the wakin' is good. Or as I used to say "I can smell the meat a cookin'."

Pat --

You should be ashamed.

The person named in your post is not a public figure. Your innuendo is totally unsubstantiated, and, as Red points out, false.

I hope one of these days someone takes the time to follow you around with a digital camera, note how you spend your time on and off the clock, and post it on a blog, forwarding a link to your employer.

On second thought, I got a nice Christmas bonus. I'll hire a private detective to do it for me.

Seasons Greetings,

YDD

YDD,

Your shamus will get rolls and rolls of a fine figure of man up to his elbows in the tasks that make this tired old world a wonderful place to hang your hat.

Compliments of the Season!

Pat

If Eisenwho Wants to run for office he should hire someone who knows how to get valid signatures. Yes it is America and the rule of law prevails even for spoiled rich kids.

I agree with YDD 100% - It was TOTALLY inappropriate for you to publish that person's name.

Anon 7:54 and the other cry babies should realize that the Speaker and the DPI aren't trying to deny anyone a choice or undo elections, but the motivation is winning. If the Speaker decides to endorse the Governor - is he going to actually do everything he can to help the guy - or just some half-assed blaze attempt to look like a good soldier. While bumping someone off the ballot may not feel right to you - I'm glad that the head of my party will do whatever he can to win, that's what elections are really all about. Good night and goodbye napoleon.
