Brady Apparently Doesn’t Pass the John Kass “Sniff Test”

Wednesday, I ran the “well wishing” statement that gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady issued.

Thursday, I open the Chicago Tribune and read the John Kass column.

I read about the Chicago City Council’s passing an anti-smoking ordinance with a “loophole big enough to drive a fleet of Freddie Barbara’s Hired Trucks through.”

Then, there’s a second story not mentioned in the headline—one about Bill Brady having “crashed Wednesday’s Gitwitz-Rauschenberger news conference to gush on about how he’s the real reform conservative.”

For the rest of the story, go to McHenry County Blog.

Yes, it's just absurd when Brady tries to snow people into thinking he's some kind of "reformer". Brady has been perfectly happing swimming with the old crowd for nearly a dozen years in Springfield. He's never done anything to rock the boat. Doesn't want to upset the frat party he's got going.

Kass was right to take Brady to task for his inexplicable defense of Bob Kjellander. It's looking more and more like Brady's just in this thing as a Spoiler, to draw votes from Oberweis so Judy can sneak in. Given Brady's closeness to Kjellander, is it unreasonable to ask if Brady has been promised anything?

If Brady really cares about the Party he will drop out and stop playing Spoiler. His campaign's going nowhere, but he might siphon off just enough votes to put Judy in.
