Westboro Baptist Church to protest Lane Bryant victims' funerals this weekend
The Westboro Baptist Church, better known as the scumbags who protest fallen soldiers' funerals with "God Hates Fags" signs, are coming to Illinois this Saturday to protest the funerals of two victims who died in the Lane Bryant shootings in Tinley Park last weekend.
They'll be at the funerals of Sarah T. Szafranski and Connie R. Woolfolk in Oak Forest and Country Club Hills respectively.
Part of me is outraged that people can still be consciously so cruel for absolutely no good reason, but another part of me feels pity that they'll never be able to show human compassion.

Maybe these families will get lucky and some other group will show up to keep the Westboro folks a couple of hundred feet from the mourners.
Some of the motorcycle clubs have been doing this at soldiers' funerals where the Westboro folks have decided to invite themselves.
I know there have been times when they were stopped, or arrested due to random laws on the books. Once they were arrested because a law about desecrating (I believe they stood on) an American Flag. Any lawyer or friends out there who are familiar?
Other than that I'm just wondering how long they could really put me in jail for throwing rocks at a 190 year old bigot.
What I have never been able to figure out is why they think what they are doing is effective. Do they really think that someone is going to see them at the funeral of a veteran or a school teacher carrying "god hates fags" signs and have an epiphany - aha, yes, now I see it, let's ban gay marriage? I realize they are ignorant, but this is just dumb! Frankly, I could see the epiphany more likely going the other way.
