Ellen's 10th Congressional Blog, Cong Kirk, and free speech

Ellen says Kirk supporters are curtailing her free speech by circulating links to her blog (blogs are speech to me) where Ellen told her readers:

Many in Israel don't want to be used as pawns in the American right wing/Bush Administration/Kirk Campaign Strategy/Arms Dealer and Oil Company plan for them.
I'm no expert on Israeli public opinion but I'm baffled on how circulating your blog posts curtails your speech.

Folks over at Soap Blog Chicago say its a Rovian tactic. Maybe it's Exxon or BP behind these tactics instead.

They're clearly trying to intimidate her -- as conservatives did earlier to NY Times editors who published info about Rumsfeld and Cheney's vacation homes (and they published this info after Rumsfeld, Cheney and the Secret Service cleared the info and photos).

It's not a Rovian tactic, it's a fascist tactic often employed by white supremacists.

Bill,

I just read Ellen's post that you linked to.

Nowhere in it does she say she feels like Kirk supporters are curtailing her free speech.

Why are you lying?

She wrote: "My tag line has always been "Using my free speech while I still have it." I blog under that tag line because I have been very concerned about, not only the government's new restraints on free speech by creating free speech zones, threatening reporters and controlling newsmedia corporations, but also the self-imposed chill the republican attacks have caused people to put on their own speech."

That has nothing do with Kirk's supporters.

She does, earlier in her post, write "They are trying to do two things with this email. First, they are trying to say that Seals is speaking through me which, of course, is riduculous. Second, they are trying to chill my free speech by causing me to worry that anything I say will be tagged on Seals or Tenth Dems which is also ridiculous."

That doesn't read like "curtailing" to me... She's mocking Kirk's supporters, not fearing them.

Stop lying.

NW,

hey, chill baby... Ellen said,

...they are trying to chill my free speech by causing me to worry that anything I say will be tagged on Seals or Tenth Dems which is also ridiculous.

Ellen said chill, I said curtail...

...I'm an old man, not cool...

NW Burbs,
Why are you unable to understand the English language? 'Chill free speech' and 'curtail free speech' mean the same thing. Are you and Ellen sharing the same low functioning brain (assuming she has one at all)?

LOL. All comments on Ellen's blog now have to be approved by her before being posted. She goes on and on in the post about how free speech has been suppressed by Bush, and then she engages in total censorship so only supportive comments will appear on her site. How do you spell hypocrite? E-L-L-E-N.

Ellen does make one key point here.

One thousand Israelis can indeed publicly protest against thier government in a time of crisis and war.

That's exactly the right no Arab can exercise and it's what we're ultimately fighting for.

Those protests in Israel are the perfect example of why Israel is our closest ally in the middle east.

It's not the Jewish lobby in the US. It's shared Liberal Democratic values.

Ellen called any such effort ridiculous... y'all are missing that key point.

Are the anonymous people here unable to read?

Bill, you glossed over it too.

And Anon 11:49pm -- if you want to whine and cry you can start your own blog, you don't need to add comments to Ellen's or anyone else's for that matter.
