PAUL CAPRIO
-- The Audacity of Hate
www.gopillinois.com (3/20/08 News Clips page)
(THE COMMENTARY: After hearing Barack Obama's belated defense of his Reverend of 20 years, Jeremiah Wright, I think that Obama has demonstrated his own lack of judgement in dealing with "the audacity of hate" which has been spewed in his own home church for 20 years by Jeremiah Wright. The response to socially justice is not hate as Martin Luther King would have told both Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright. Hate speech, whether hatred of America, hatred of black people, or hatred of white people can never be justified. It must always be confronted as Barack Obama failed to do for nearly 20 years in his own home church. Further more, I find it very disturbing that an attempt has been made to make it appear that Jeremiah Wright and his hate filled anti-white, anti-American rhetoric is somehow representative of the majority of African American Christian Ministers in this country. Fortunately, it is not. This is an unfair stereotype of the Christian African American community which is attempting to work with the whitecommunity to constructively improve racial relations and promote social justice in America. As a Christian, it is time for Jeremiah Wright to repent of his hate filled remarks publicly. Then American can move on and not be further divided by his remarks which Barack Obama is now attempting to excuse and "spin" away.)

I'm outta here. I am deleting my bookmark for Illinoize. This type of blog-spamming by "Diersen" is disgraceful. Funny, I met a real Republican, Everett Dirksen, in his office in the U.S. Senate in 1966 -- an admirable leader. He would have found this type of daily garbage beneath the dignity of the Republican Party.

Anonymous,  9:26 AM

Yeah I think so too, it was annotated a bit, but it's still a major league pain in the ass to be honest with you

Lou Atsaves is now an "anti-conservative?" That ought to come as a major news flash to a lot of people in Lake County! It seems that arch-conservative crackpot Raymond True elected to tell fibs about the Lake County Convention and Lou Atsaves as its chairman called those fibs to everyone's attention.

Diersen clearly has no credibility.

8:54 show me the way out. I'm with you. Indeed the Illinois GOP is crusty, creepy and completely out of touch with anyone under say, 80. I knew a couple of great Republicans, sadly they've passed on and they would be disgusted by the current state of the party.

grand old partisan 10:52 AM

Mr. Diersen:

Please stop reposting your entire daily website on this blog. It is disrespectful to both the other contributors and the readers. You should note that most of the other posters on Illinoize have their own sites and blogs, and none of them have taken to re-posting EVERY single item here. Why do you feel it necessary to do so?

Anonymous,  12:50 PM

What makes his posts do damn annoying isn't the uber-length, some of my favorite illinoize posts have been the longest. But those long posts contain some meat - they look at an issue, analyze it in depth, interpret it, and really delve into it.

There's NONE of that here. It's one jag off who can't be bothered to learn basic html so he can provide links instead of copy & pasting urls offering some shrill 2-3 sentence blurbs about far too many stories before cut-and-pasting those stories in there.

Not only does he go on longer than any other commentator, but he says less.

Skeeter 12:55 PM

I like these posts. A few were missing though.

Did anyone else hear that Scotter Libby has been disbarred.

How Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Sad.

Mad Conservative 1:20 PM

If he didn't post these here there wouldn't be much going on in this Illinoize blog, cause there's little activity if you subtract them.

Anonymous,  2:46 PM

There used to more activity Mad, but it's impossible to find beyond the clutter and length of these posts. Again, it's not the content I object to, it's the format. Said so many times. I'm sure glad Rich Miller told us they've been shortened, but I find it hard to tell if that's the case.

Anonymous,  4:57 PM

How about a Cliff's Notes version, with a link to the full blog entry? The length is almost as insufferable as Dan L's content.

David Ormsby 5:38 PM

These posts are you just too long. Can't you shorten or use a little editorial discretion?

Anonymous,  6:46 PM

I hate to say it, but Rich Miller deserves some blame for these overly long posts. He could do more to instruct Diersen to prioritize and keep his contributions to no more than 2-3 paragraphs with a link to the website more for details. This blog should be a place for analysis and commentaries.

Anonymous,  8:43 PM

Make them shorter absolutely.

One small comment regarding the last post - Rich is on vacation for a couple weeks. Perhaps that is part of the problem.

If it doesn't get cleaned up by the time he's back, then there really is a problem.
