Trivia: Judy's Cicero announcement in very cool Czech restaurant
I think the junkies on Illinoize would appreciate this tiny trivia:
Judy's announcement today in Cicero took place at Klas Restaurant on Cermak Road. Klas is the largest Czech restaurant in the nation and is one of the most ornate places I've seen in the western burbs.
As you can imagine, Al Capone frequented the place.
If you've never been, it's worth a visit. The website is here. And the mix of Mexican and Eastern European cultures is a nice American story as well.
(It's also an interesting contrast to Governor Blagojevich's announcement at A. Finkl Steel plant on the north side of Chicago where his father worked for years).
UPDATE: Actually, if anyone who was there can confirm it was at Klas, that would be good. Don't want to put out incorrect info....

How appropriate that Judy kick off her campaign in Cicero. Talk about political coruption!
Well, she does have ties in Cicero having grown up there and it being an area with strong Eastern European roots. Plus, Cicero was part of her state house and senate district of years past.
I love the virtual tour on the Klas website
Is it true Dan Proft had the Cicero Police ticketing Topinka supporters driving through Cicero?
Good way drum support for RAUSEMBUGER
With Dan Johnson Weinberger writing about Judy annoucning does that mean that Senator Slim Sandoval was eating that eastern european heavy fair and that the notorious HDO is going to be supporting Topinka?
No, but it does mean that the Klas Restaurant is just a mile down the road on Cermak Avenue from Senator Sandoval's campaign office in Cicero. Senator Sandoval is firmly with Governor Blagojevich.
Is Blagojevich endorsing Sandoval?
Is Blagojevich distancing himself from HDO?
Wasn't Sandoval running for three offices at the same time including one in Mexico?
Didn't Dan Johnson Weinberger sell out to HDO?
HDO is a real progressive, liberal, organizaiton. LOL.
