Village of Campton Hills: hardball in the sticks

Developer money behind the campaign to dissolve the newly incorporated Village of Campton Hills.

From the city to Dekalb, developement creates the issues.

Looks to me that if you "follow the money", it leads straight to the developer.

Nothing wrong with any citizen, private or corporate, in getting involved, as long as there is disclosure on campaign funding. Looks like the whole issue of whether to stay incorporated, or to dissolve, has the residents equally divided, developer involvement or not. Lots of heated opinions from private citizens on both sides of the issue.

If the village survives (which I put a 60% probability on) they will eventually become like any other village in the area - looking to expand their tax base with more commercial and industrial development.
Look at the IL 64 and IL 47 corridors as "hot" development prospects.

Follow the money on the Campton Hills side. They took their pay in a lump sum just before they printed and mailed a fancy campaign piece. Check out Aubrey Neville's involvement too. He has a large property that would desire favorable zoning.
