Laesch handouts on Oberweis investments in China

Laesch supporters were handing these out last night.

With regard to the post below on Iraq as the only issue, Laesch is Out Now on Iraq, but he did get worked up about Bin Laden and told how he was sent to Africa in the service after the two embassy attacks in 1998.

His intensity conjured up an image from the movie Independence Day where the President climbs into the cockpit of a jet fighter to take on the alien space invaders himself. I have the feeling Laesch would do the same with Bin Laden. This only half- in-jest. Laesch is if anything intense.

My next thought was what the heck did we really do instead back in 1998.

Not enough maybe. No one ordered into the cockpit. The Al-Shifa pharmaceutical plant in Sudan was destroyed with cruise missles instead because of faulty intelligence.

Anyway, here's the ever passionate Laesch taking on Oberweis in a mailer he lacks the funds to mail. It's hard to have warm and fuzzies for a less than Democratic China. Oberweis might want to review a lot of investments.

If Obama was President he could name Antoin "Tony" Rezko his special envoy to the Middle East.

Obama could name Devine, or Burns, or Lassar or Anne Tighe to US Attorneys to stop..er..root out corruption against Daley's political opponents.

Obie's firm's investments are a symptom, not necessarily a cause.

Think of the steady stream of shoppers heading into your local Wal-Mart everyday looking for low prices. They are investors in China's economy, too. Those builders that use Chinese steel because it's 20% cheaper; they're investors, too. And all the mom & pop business owners, Cat workers, and schoolteachers who invest in a mutual fund with their 401k's, some of which are populated with Asian manufacturing firms; they are investing in PRC's economy, and it's probably an astute thing, at least for the near term and ignoring the long term consequences.

If Laesch won't accept a contribution or vote from any of these "investors", he can call himself pure.

Anon,

As consumer, I understand the conflict.

Credit Leasch though for at least pointing this China's a Workers State with a record of abusing workers.

Instead of ALWAYS critizing an individual that has been very successful in the business arena, look at how this person can bring the experience forward to help solve some of the budget issues, etc. I too invest in mutual funds along with other venues. We met with our investment firm approximately 2-3 months ago and they indicated to get the best return on investments we need to have a percentage in foriegn investments. I am sure if the Lauzens look into their investments they will find foriegn company investments as well. For return on investments this make sense. Granted we need to work with countries to improve their employee wages and conditions to be more competitive to the US which will help stop the flow of businesses looking for other locations.
