I couldn't help but notice that the name of the political party whose primary Mr. MacRunnels is running in seems to be missing from his mailer. Or are my eyes playing tricks on me in my old age?

If my memory serves me the Kane County Sheriff candidate Pat Perez also had no mention of his Democrat roots on his mailer or on his political signs. Nor did the other candidates that ran in November.

MacRunnels opponent Karen McConnaughay whom touts herself as the female leader of the GOP also has NO mention of her political party on her poltical signs or on her mailer.

No one's eyes are playing tricks. MacRunnels is a winner no matter wht the result. He has forced his "insider" media protected opponent to spend her significant contractor based war chest on this race that she supposedly laughed about.

Correct on Perez anon.

The current Chairman has actually lowered property taxes in Kane County...what other counties in Illinois can claim that? Hard to argue that is not a solid Republican. Not sure about her "political warchest", but results are results. I read in the Aurora Beacon endorsement of her, to paraphrase... we wish our state government could be run as effectively as she has run county government. Not that Springfield should be a litmus test for any form of government, but at the minimum she is doing her job for the taxpayers and doing it very well.

The county by vote has raised the gas tax and also supported a Springfield vote to raise the Kane County sales tax.

Does this sound like a tax "decrease" to anyone?

A countywide Democrat is telling people he is supporting a Republican in a countywide race.

He will be supporting this person over the Democrat nominee in the fall.

Democrat leaders are being notified.
