Kane County and the Democrats, and the GOP sheriff campaign finally out of hibernation

A Daily Herald editorial from yesterday. Not sure because they list them but without dates.

Democrats have boasted they’ve made huge strides in predominantly Republican McHenry County and largely Republican Kane County. Their party has certainly fielded more candidates than in the past. But two of McHenry County’s Democratic county board candidates have withdrawn, meaning almost a quarter of their ticket has withdrawn from the Nov. 7 ballot. Two Democrats on the Kane County board have resigned in the past five weeks. To truly make strides, they’ve got to stay on the ballot or in office. Perhaps Democrats in both counties might want to consider handing out some Super Glue with their candidate petitions next time.
Lisa Smith writes a column on Kevin Williams sleepy campaign for Kane County Sheriff.

Pat Perez isn't sleeping. His staff called the house last weekend looking for my son to invite him to a reception at our Democratic Precinct Captian's house. They were working their way through the voter registration lists. Told her I was a blogger for Illinoiz and someone concerned about the number of fatal car accidents in Kane County. By next Tuesday I had a written invitation in the mail to come to the reception too.

Anyone has questions for Perez, list them here and I'll bring them with tomorrow.

Bill,

You may need more information on this race. Williams is not running a "sleepy" campaign. He has been everywhere all summer.

Just not on blogs and not visiting with the media.

Kevin Williams has been walking precincts and attending community events and parades all summer.

Perez is an "A" candidate. But Williams is "A plus" and I will be supporting him as I did in the primary.

Williams has been out in the community. Just because he put out a press release one week after his opponent Ms. Smith chooses to get on his back.

Do the press realize people want a break from local candidate debate in the summer? As it is they have been barraged with ads on the Governor's race.

We have seen both candidates very active in Aurora. Considering Pat Perez has a history in Aurora, that's not surprising, but what did surprise us was the army of people that have come out for Kevin Williams. Not a sleepy campaign from what we can tell.

maybe I don't see the Williams people because they think Campton is in the bag... Perez sounded good here though.

William's has been in Campton and takes no area of the county for granted.

I think it's important to know that last night the Sheriff's Candidate Pat Perez showed up at the retirement party of Kennth R. Ramsey in blue jeans and a fleece sweatshirt like top.

Now if this isn't a sign of true professionalism I don't know what is. Maybe Steve Ziman (his Undersheriff) can bring his professionalism to the Sheiff's Office and show Candidate Perez who wants to be your law enforcement leader for Kane County how to look the part of a professional Sheriff, seen as how Perez doesn't think any professionals work at the Sheriff's Office.

Or maybe you could do the right thing and elect Kevin Williams who is a well like Lieutenant and leader throughout law enforcement region and throughout his community, as well as knows how to look and act like the professional he is. This includes not choking his employees when he dosen't like their answers, as Perez has done in the past.

I as a taxpayer and Geneva resident expect more for my $125,000 dollar a year salary that the Sherriff will soon be getting.

What is this "Fashion Police"? Who cares what Perez wore to a party. At least Perez didnt fail a promotional exam, only later to complain about several questions to be tricky on the test, and then later got promoted to "Lieutenant" because the questions were removed. Who's Your Leader?
