A New standard for Quality Candidates

From a ABC7 report from the Cook County slating meeting.

"I served as alderman for 16 years in this city of Chicago and didn't get indicted," said Robert Shaw, (D) Candidate for Sheriff.

With everything going on in Chicago I can understand pride in never being indicted. But is that really something to brag about?

I can never figure out which Shaw brother is which. But I disagree with Pat above. They have been looking at the handfull of their posterior lobes in their own hands now that other politician are not afraid of them (Jackson, Dart, Halvorson, Zucarelli). The question is, why does Tom Hynes play footies with them? Bob Gorman has been running the tax appeals office of Shaws since Hynes left the Accessors office.

I was there when he said that. The whole room cracked up. That in this climate of Illinois Corruption and Politics is a claim to fame. What was "Deep Water" doing there? Alderman Banks did not look well, must have been the Sun-Times article! Also noted was Attorney Ivan Tomic of Avila and Tomic,LLC.

Thankfully Larry Rogers beat Shaw.

It was said with irony and humor....duh. You all take yourselves way too seriously. And the outrage? Give it a rest.

19th ward has a history of racism from when Tom Hynes ran a racist campaign against Swanson, to Jerry Joyce wanting to go Republican under Harold Washintogn, and Tom Hynes running against Harold Washington

Frank Avila gave the best speech, this may not be his race, but he is a great Latino leader and lawyer and will be at the highest levels of influence. I love his TV show, he tells it like it is.

Frank Avila Jr. may be a good candidate. Not for Sheriff at least. Frank Avila Jr. is a smart and articulate guy that would be well served by working for Tom Dart and waiting his turn. Hispanics will have their day in this city and Frank Avila Jr. will be there but he looks to anxious by moving to fast. SLOW DOWN AVILA.

What is so great or unique about Tom Dart? I did not hear any ideas from him, only that he is the handpicked candidate of Sheehan who has had a lot of problems in that office.
