Kane County Sheriff's race

GOP candidates Ignacio "Joe" Pena, and Kevin Williams, and Democrat Pat Perez spoke and answered questions today at the Campton Township Center. Here's a picture. It used to be the old Chicago & Great Western RR station in Wasco, Illinois.A Kevin Williams supporter with signs. I asked if I could take his picture. He agreed and then said, wait, is this for your blog? I said yes, I'll post it on Rich Miller's blog, and the guy said, oh yeah, Capital fax! Well it's almost Capital Fax.

Here's Joe Pena,

and here are Pat Perez and Kevin Williams,

I give the afternoon to Pena. He said if the department is top heavy with officers and too few deputies he wouldn't wait to attrit, he'd change the personnel structure.

The big issue in Campton Township is incorporation to fend of annexation from Elgin, Elburn, and Lily Lake. All three candidates gave a reality check on what incorporation means. Campton pays for it's own force.

Pena gave the sound advice of avoid the mediazation of crime. Our number one problem is traffic. It's a killer. He was the only candidate who showed he had looked at any of our statistics.

So I told him afterwords he did a great job for whatever he that thought was worth and he laughed and said it meant a lot.
