The DuPage County Republican Party held an outstanding McCain-Palin Rally Monday evening, September 22, at St. Andrew's Golf Course in West Chicago. Speakers included RNC Chairman Mike Duncan, Illinois McCain Campaign Chairman Jim Durkin, Joe Birkett, Pat Durante, Chris Kachiroubas, Jim Oberweis, Elizabeth Roskam, Steve Sauerberg, and Bob Schillerstrom. Enthusiastic attendees picked up 1,500 yard signs, 1,000 Palin lipsticks, and 1,000 Oberweis ice creams. Those on the stage with the speakers included Illinois Republican Party (IRP) National Committeeman Pat Brady, former IRP National Committeewoman Mary Jo Arndt, IRP Chairman Andy McKenna, DuPage County Republican Central Committee (DCRCC) Chairwoman Barb Murphy, DuPage County and DCRCC Treasurer Gwen Henry, DuPage County Auditor Jim Rasins, and Dupage County Republican Township Chairmen John Dabrowski (Bloomingdale), Mike Formento (Milton), Paul Hinds (York), Brian Krajewski (Downers Grove), Rachel Ossyra (Naperville), Mike Prueter (Lisle), John Smith (Winfield), and Ken Spitz (Wayne). Illinois Review's Fran Eaton and ABC7 covered the event. Attendees enjoyed live music and took home outstanding 276-page DCRCC 2008-2009 Directories that included a full page GOPUSA ILLINOIS ad on page 61 and a half page TAPROOT Republicans of Illinois ad on page 257.

If Chicago/Cook County/Springfield Democrats had not scheduled highly unusual Monday legislative sessions, Republican Senators Dan Cronin, Kirk Dillard, Randy Hultgren, John Millner, Carol Pankau, Christine Radogno, and Dan Rutherford and Republican Representatives Patty Bellock, Bob Biggins, Franco Coladipietro, Tom Cross, Joe Dunn, Mike Fortner, Jim Meyer, Sandy Pihos, Randy Ramey, Dennis Reboletti, and Skip Saviano would have attended.
