Give the Gov a break

Paul Green on Blagojevich's "leadership style",

Roosevelt University political analyst Paul Green said personality conflicts are a part of politics, but the state budget is languishing for another reason.

“The governor’s leadership style, that’s a convenient excuse,” he said. “In all the years I’ve been down here, I’ve never seen so much money on the table. Health care, education, transit and pensions — all four of those would be really tough to do individually. Doing all four at one time requires an incredible amount of effort.”
Big problems, big money, and Democrats lacking ideas running the show. That's the problem; not personalities.

If my and others paychecks don't show up in July because of "personalities," (especially Milarod's), I forsee a mass walkout. A pox on all their houses.

Hey Profeesor Green, stop making excuses for Gov. Sleazy. He has put the state in a mess because he demands that eveything go his way. The sooner the state is rid of him, the better!

The only people who complain about "personalities" are those who have too big egos themselves.

And Bill, I wouldn't say it is a lack of ideas. More like a lack of will.

There are plenty of ideas out there to go around.

No Bill, you're wrong again. The governor does not deserve a break.

The problem is that our governor proposes spending billions on new programs while refusing to consider honest and fair ways to pay for them.

Collar county sales tax increase for RTA? No way. Income tax increase for education and property tax relief? No way.

Multi-billion dollar universal health care? His plan to fund it lost 107-0. Gubanatorial pouting isn't going to change that result.

Don't make excuses for him, and please spare us your dribble about Democrats lacking ideas. When your side steps up to offer votes on revenue increases, let us know. Until then, this is the governor's mess, not the Democrats'. It's just unfortunate that Blagojevich happened on the scene in the midst of the GOP implosion. A fluke that hopefully will be remedied before irreparable damage is done.

I wrote break...

...not exoneration.

The people of Illinois gave a clear mandate to Democrats to act.

The GOP, the Greens, the Liberatarians; no one else has much of a responsibility to bail the Democrats out of the whole they're jumped into...

...anon above is right. Ideas are all over the internet. The will to put together the reforms needed in this state before anyone can even begin to talk about more taxes is missing. Missing because their isn't an once of creativity among the bunch of the Dems.

They're a party solely about power. That's it.

hole and they've... but you got the idea...

..what a mess this Party's become... ole Dan Walker was making more sense hawking his new book with Bruce Dodd.

Anyone venture to guess.

The problem with Bagojevich...is that he wasn't "supposed" to be Governor. So now he's going to get a free, involuntary, non-stop tune-up. Until he "learns" how its supposed to be.

Three things have to happen to save Illinois:
1. Blagojevich Indicted
2. Blagojevich Impeached
3. Bonus would be both.

Baar, another lame post.

There's no doubt Blago needs to go - what an idiot - but please tell me, where on God's earth is there an Illinois Republican who has the ability, talent, intelligence, or ideas to take on the Dems for control at this point, and actually win?

Sadly, the Republican primaries weed out the good people, leaving us with such poor choices the Dems win by default. (Evidence: Blago.)

Right now the only bright lights for Illinois's future are on the Dem side of the aisle. I wish I could point to one, just one, Republican who could make it out of a primary and have a realistic chance of winning in the general.

Until that happens, posting like yours sound like nothing more than empty boasts by aging lotharios who are legends only in their own minds.

Why look? Democrats crushed the GOP. It's their game now. What kind party wins, fumbles this badly, and then Illinoisians are supposed to look to the losers for help?

How soon before Blago and his crew are indicted?
