Via Bridget in the 6th

There is a new federal committee that filed with the FEC....

Linda Chapa LaVia for congress.

Now things get interesting, at least out OneMan way....

It is a smart idea for her to start now, just in case that Ambassadorship option suddenly appeals to Denny Hastert, and there is a Special Election out in the 14th CD.

Pat Collins 3:35 PM

She hasn't got a chance in the 14th, but she'll keep a good DEM from having a shot at it.

So I am happy.

Joe Serra has a much better chance at winning than LaVia. SO... the comment made she'll keep a good dem from winning may be true.
I hope Joe Serra decides to run.

Joe Serra is a nobody. Linda will beat him and any other challenger in the D primary. Her only hope then is that Lauzen will win the GOP primary, but Hastert has made clear that hell will freeze over first before he allows that to happen.

Some commitment to running... she says that she won't run if Hastert runs again. At least Laesch (who's running again) had the guts to run against Hastert while he was in office.

The Dems can do better than that.

From the Beacon News:

"However, like most hopefuls eyeing that particular higher office, Chapa LaVia is waiting to hear what Rep. Dennis Hastert will do." (emphasis added)

It's not just Rep. Chapa LaVia waiting to see what the Coach plans to do, Anonymous 5:08pm. I wonder if you'd make the same goofy comment about the Republicans thinking about that race but still hedging their bets nonetheless.

Anonymous, Illinoize readers can do better than your shill comments. ;)

Hastert will seek renomination in February's Republican primary, which will keep Lauzen, Oberweis, Wegman and Chapa LaVia out of the race. After Hastert secures the 2008 Republican nomination, within 1-2 months after the primary, a previously undisclosed health condition will force Hastert to give up the nomination. Republican Party leaders will then choose State Representative Tim Schmitz, who will cruise to election in November 2008. Anyone who thinks Chris Lauzen and Jim Oberweis will be the next congressman from the 14th are in for a rude awakening next year.

Linda's Chapped LaVulva is trying to get squirt guns banned! She tied to the incredible f'd up Down Town Aurora scam and may be facing some legal trouble down the road!

She's voted to give ILLEGAL ALIENS Drivers Licenses in ILLINOIS!

That hag LaVia doesn't have a chance in hell of winning!!!

John Laesch has his own baggage to contend with and from what I'm hearing his baggage is pretty interesting too. I'm looking at all of the candidates even Joe Serra - even though he apparently has not committed to joining the race. Jotham Stein has some great plans, why couldn't he run a good race?
