More on the Mass Health Insurance Plan

More on the Mass plan from The Economist.

A novel aspect of the plan is the creation of a health insurance “exchange”, to relieve small firms of the need to conduct complex negotiations with insurers. Employees will be able to choose any plan approved by the state-backed exchange, and their premiums will be deducted from their pay cheques.
It just makes way too much sense. It's substance and all we have is All Kids veneer.

Bill,

It won't truly be a good bill until we are all allowed to buy Health insurance across state lines.

Once mandates are circumvented, the ability of the customer to choose policies that fit their needs will drive price reductions.

A combination of HSAs, Mandatory Insurance, purchasing out of state, and short term subsidies for the needy will create a dynamic alternative to pipe dreams like all kids.
